Computer components refers to the various units that makes up a computer system. The components are categorized into input and output devices,
(i) Input Devices: These devices enable computer user enter data, commands and programs into the Central Processing Unit (CPU). The devices are Keyboard, Mouse, Scanner, Joystick, Microphone etc.
(ii) Output Devices: Out devices are used to send out processed data called information. The output devices are Monitor, Printer, Speaker, Headphone, Plotters etc.
(iii) System Unit: The system unit is the body of the computer. The content of the system unit includes; Casing, Motherboard, Power Supply Unit, Floppy Drive Bay, Hard Drive Bay, CD Rom, Data Signal Cables, Power cables etc.
(iv) Storage Devices: Storage devices are used to stores data. There are two types of storage devices; Internal/Primary main memory and External/Secondary/Auxiliary memory.
(1) Internal Memory: These are the memory that stores data inside the computer e.g. RAM, ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM.
