AGRICULTURAL ECOLOGY: Agricultural ecology is the study of agricultural ecology to understand the complex processes in agro ecosystem on high hierarchical level using general ecological theory resulting in design and management of sustainable agricultural system. It deals with the climatic change.
ECOSYSTEM: An ecosystem is a community of living organisms plants, animals and microbes in conjunction with the environment like air, water and mineral soil interacting as a system.
COMPONENT OF FARM ECOSYSTEM
(i) ABIOTIC FACTOR: They are non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment that affect living organisms and the functioning of the ecosystem. These factors may be classified via “SWATS” (Soil, Water, Air, Temperature, Sunlight)
(ii) BIOTIC FACTOR: It is a living part of an ecosystem that affects and shapes it. It transforms non-living into living matter e.g. soil organism pests, parasites, diseases etc.
